H2M architects + engineers, a multidisciplinary firm specializing in architecture, engineering, and environmental consulting, is expanding its operations in Florida and is in search of Engineers with expertise in the Design and Management of MEP and Electrical engineering, along with a solid understanding of the design process from proposal through construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will provide exposure to all facets of MEP system design and execution, including but not limited to:
  • Oversee MEP projects, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to synchronize MEP efforts with other engineering disciplines.
  • Develop MEP system designs, specifications, and drawings for tenant improvements and core buildings, as well as various other projects requiring MEP solutions.
  • Review and endorse shop drawings, submittals, and as-built documentation.
  • Facilitate the seamless integration of diverse MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Assist in the architectural application of electrical engineering, encompassing power systems, lighting design, generator design, and campus electrical infrastructure.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement standard techniques and procedures, utilizing knowledge of building codes and regulations to create or modify designs and drawings.
  • Engage in design development activities.
  • Create electrical specification packages.
  • Ensure all design elements adhere to local codes and apply relevant code provisions.
  • Support the preparation of project proposals and client presentations, and participate in client meetings.
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations and document findings.
  • Effectively communicate with clients to comprehend their needs and provide expert advice on MEP solutions.
Engineers joining our team will be expected to:
  • Maintain a strong commitment to technical excellence, performing detailed engineering calculations and analyses.
  • Lead the development of construction documents (plans and specifications).
  • Adhere to established budgets and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate project execution with other engineering and architectural departments within the firm.
  • Prepare construction drawings and specifications for public bidding.
  • Foster relationships with both internal and external clients.
Education & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant consulting and design experience, particularly in MEP and power system design and implementation.
  • The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering MEP solutions, ensuring the successful execution of projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in relevant MEP design software: REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam.
  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong client relations and technical writing abilities.
  • Capability to mentor and supervise junior staff.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $130,000 annually.

The employment offer may vary from this published range based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography, and/or related certifications, not related to any applicant's characteristics protected by local, state, or federal law. Note: The indicated salary or hourly rate does not encompass other forms of compensation or benefits.
