Vascular Technologist

ChristianaCare is seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team in Elk Mills, Maryland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all phases of noninvasive peripheral vascular testing, including ultrasound imagers, treadmill, segmental limb pressure, and pulse volume recordings.
- Operate all vascular equipment and differentiate normal from abnormal pathology.
- Review patient charts to verify physician orders and obtain pertinent clinical history.
- Recognize characteristic changes related to age spans and chronic disease.
- Establish which procedures are appropriate for diagnosis and which are contraindicated for specific symptoms and test values.
- Differentiate user-created artifact from patient pathology.
- Explain the test to patients and answer any questions they may have, maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Evaluate studies for technical quality and utilize all necessary accessories.
- Properly identify films and participate in the Quality Assurance Program.
- Assist with development and updating of policy and procedures, and pursue ongoing continuing education.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved program in ultrasound or other allied health profession.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position with four 10-hour shifts, including Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1pm-11:30pm.
- Holiday and call rotation will be needed, as well as occasional flexibility with weekend rotation coverage.
- Coverage of primarily Christiana and Wilmington Hospital, with possible coverage to Middletown's ED (on call).
