We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our vascular laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all phases of noninvasive peripheral vascular testing, including ultrasound imagers, treadmill, segmental limb pressure, and pulse volume recordings.
- Operate all vascular equipment and differentiate normal from abnormal pathology.
- Review patient charts to verify physician orders and obtain pertinent clinical history.
- Recognize characteristic changes related to age spans and chronic disease.
- Establish which procedures are appropriate for diagnosis and which are contraindicated for specific symptoms and test values.
- Differentiate user-created artifact from patient pathology.
- Explain tests to patients and answer their questions while maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Ensure patient safety and attend to their needs during procedures.
- Evaluate studies for technical quality.
- Utilize all necessary accessories to perform procedures.
- Properly identify films.
- Contribute to the Quality Assurance Program and assist with policy and procedure development.
- Participate in ongoing continuing education.
- Perform assigned work safely and report any unsafe activities or conditions.
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to provide care for patients of all ages.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and consistently use two patient identifiers.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved program in ultrasound or other allied health profession.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
