Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Diagnostic Vascular Procedures
    • Operate advanced vascular equipment, including ultrasound imagers, treadmill, segmental limb pressure, and pulse volume recordings.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of patient charts to verify physician orders and obtain relevant clinical history.
    • Recognize characteristic changes related to age spans and chronic disease.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals
    • Work closely with interpreting vascular physicians to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  • Ensure Patient Safety and Comfort
    • Make patients feel comfortable and at ease during procedures.
    • Ensure patient safety and attend to their needs throughout their time in the department.
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance and Continuing Education
    • Participate in the Quality Assurance Program to ensure high-quality patient care.
    • Engage in ongoing continuing education to stay up-to-date with the latest vascular technology and techniques.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Graduate of an AMA-approved program in ultrasound or other allied health profession.
    • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification.
  • Special Requirements
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, twist, handle, stoop, and bend.
    • Ability to assist patients to and from stretchers.
