Regional Sales Manager

As a Regional Sales Manager at Big River Steel, you will be responsible for managing efforts to obtain targeted sales and profitability in an assigned area. This involves implementing and executing customer solicitation and service policies, programs, and objectives.

This role requires strong customer relationship building, technical expertise, pricing, and coordination with other team members to achieve profit targets. You will develop account strategies, territory plans, and administrative responsibilities to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing account strategies and territory plans to maximize tonnage, price, and mix
  • Managing contract negotiations and developing plans to satisfy contractual obligations
  • Providing market and customer feedback to respective departments
  • Assisting with monthly planning and forecasting for the territory
  • Promoting Big River Steel capabilities and unique benefits in the market
  • Developing and maintaining relationships at all levels within the customer organization
  • Working closely with Quality Assurance, Product Development, Customer Technical Service, Logistics, Finance, and Operations to resolve customer issues

Requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of relevant steel industry work experience
  • High level of detail, problem-solving, and technical skills
  • Proven record of accomplishments in sales and building positive customer relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to meet goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate calmly, clearly, and persuasively in all situations
  • Demonstrated group presentation skills
  • Projects professional appearance, behavior, manners, and etiquette
  • Effectively interprets and makes business decisions using financial information
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75%

This position requires a flexible schedule, including overtime, nights, weekends, and travel with little or no advance notice. The ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environments is also necessary.

This role may involve supervisory responsibilities and requires a strong commitment to safety and respect for employees.
