Compensation:

The salary for the Compliance Specialist position is determined by the role's requirements and the candidate's qualifications, typically starting within the minimum to mid-range of our salary scale.

Salary: $23.65 per hour, depending on experience

Position Summary: Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Specialist is tasked with evaluating clinical documentation, supporting Electronic Health Records (EHR), and assisting staff in adhering to compliance policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand coding and billing requirements for Behavioral Health and Substance Use Treatment documentation.
  • Possess knowledge of Oregon Administrative Rules regarding clinical documentation for Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment Services.
  • Ensure client records meet quality and risk management standards through documentation reviews and audits.
  • Act as a backup protective service investigator.
  • Provide support as a backup compliance records specialist.
  • Advise staff on HIPAA requirements and medical record documentation standards.
  • Remain available to provide technical assistance while managing core responsibilities.
  • Comply with legal requirements by reviewing existing and new legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff to foster collaboration.
  • Suggest improvements to processes and tools that enhance operational quality and clinical efficiency.
  • Collaborate with management to improve agency performance in quality and risk management.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Compliance Manager.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of auditing experience.

Preferred:

  • General knowledge of compliance and state regulations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Oregon driver's license and insurable driving record are required.
