About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Ash Grove Cement, a CRH company. As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing the entire cement manufacturing process, analyzing operations, and implementing improvements to optimize production efficiency, fuel efficiency, and electrical efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the cement manufacturing process, analyzing operations and implementing improvements to optimize production efficiency, fuel efficiency, and electrical efficiency.
  • Participate in the training of control room operators on the proper use of plant equipment.
  • Work closely with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency.
  • Perform programming of the plant's programmable control systems and provide maintenance, documentation, and improvements for computerized process systems.
  • Perform performance testing and measurements on production equipment.
  • Maintain equipment performance records, including wear part life history.
  • Provide technical support to the Production Department to achieve objectives of maximizing plant production of quality-controlled cement efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Optimize process by testing, data gathering, sampling, and in-house expertise to provide progressive solutions and enable continual improvement in the production process.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical, chemical engineering, or a closely related position.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Proficient in analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform, organize, and prioritize work independently.
  • Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills.
  • Knowledge of pyro processing, thermodynamics, heat transfer, air flow, and related principles.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines.
  • Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly.
  • Ability to work from general policies and objectives.
  • Ability to refer to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organizational policy is in question.
