Job Overview:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is dedicated to providing quality education and workforce development. As an integral part of this mission, we are seeking an experienced adjunct instructor to teach courses in HVAC and Refrigeration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the field and demonstrate a commitment to fostering student success through effective teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Create an engaging learning atmosphere that promotes the acquisition of knowledge and skills relevant to HVAC and Refrigeration.
2. Align instructional activities with established learning outcomes; utilize diverse teaching strategies to enhance student engagement; incorporate appropriate technology and resources to support educational objectives; and provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and activities.
3. Deliver high-quality instruction that meets stated learning outcomes; adhere to institutional policies regarding student evaluations; conduct meaningful assessments of student learning; and analyze feedback to continuously improve instructional methods.
4. Availability to teach during various times, including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
5. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each credit hour assigned to facilitate student support.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related discipline with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC/R systems, controls, and calculations. Current EPA certification is required. Proficient communication skills in electronic formats. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level. Familiarity with learning management systems such as CANVAS. Proven teaching strategies that enhance student achievement. Adeptness in utilizing technology to support educational initiatives.
