Job Title: Welding Adjunct

Job Summary:

Tidewater Community College is seeking a qualified Welding Adjunct to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Welding to students with a wide range of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in Welding courses to students in a classroom, remote, or online environment.
  • Engage students outside of class through office hours and provide timely and effective feedback on course activities and assignments.
  • Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ a variety of active learning strategies to foster student engagement.
  • Conduct meaningful and timely assessments of student learning and analyze previous semester's evaluation of instruction to develop and implement action plans as necessary.
  • Hold at least one office hour per week for each credit hour assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably an Associate degree or equivalent in Welding.
  • Five years of current occupational experience in Welding.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience at the college level.
  • Knowledge of CANVAS or other learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
  • Candidates should possess sufficient technology skills to work productively in an organization that utilizes significant information and instructional technology resources.
