Job Title: Associate General Counsel - Commercial

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our Commercial team at Impulse Space. As a key member of our Legal department, you will play a critical role in identifying and managing risks across the organization, ensuring the Company is adequately protected through its growth stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, negotiate, and handle all inbound and outbound commercial agreements, including master subscription agreements, reseller/partner agreements, and other types of commercial and privacy agreements with a broad range of customers.
  • Serve as a proactive, responsive, trusted, and results-oriented advisor who is adept at anticipating customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide overall management and oversight of legal support to transactions through contract life cycle management, including establishing policies and procedures to facilitate growth and scale.
  • Keep informed on applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidance that impact our Company's core product.
  • Lead overall compliance program, including partnering with finance, sales, and information technology teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal Impulse policies, processes, product capabilities, and compliance requirements.
  • Build critical relationships with key stakeholders to effectively provide practical legal and strategic advice to assist the business in meeting its objectives.
  • Support business teams in identifying and mitigating legal and compliance risks.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of appropriate IP guardrails to facilitate a responsible and protected entry into the market.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited legal program and member of the California bar in good standing.
  • 8+ years of total experience supporting commercial transactions.
  • 2+ years of in-house experience.
  • Track record and demonstrated experience of effectively navigating opportunities, headwinds, and strategic shifts that are common in an early-stage business.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience building a Compliance program in a start-up or early-stage company environment.
  • Experience working in or with the aerospace and/or the automotive industry.
  • Pragmatic, business mindset.

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
