Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate General Counsel (Commercial) to join our Legal team at Impulse Space. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in identifying and managing risks across the organization, ensuring the Company is adequately protected through its growth stages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and oversee commercial contracts, including supply chain, vendor, and customer agreements, to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Build and manage the Company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Provide proactive and responsive legal support to transactions, including contract life cycle management, policy establishment, and procedure development.
  • Lead the overall compliance program, partnering with finance, sales, and information technology teams to ensure agreements align with internal policies and processes.
  • Build critical relationships with key stakeholders to provide practical legal and strategic advice, supporting the business in meeting its objectives.
  • Support business teams in identifying and mitigating legal and compliance risks, and assist in the design and implementation of appropriate IP guardrails.
Requirements
  • J.D. from an accredited legal program and member of the California bar in good standing.
  • 8+ years of total experience supporting commercial transactions.
  • 2+ years of in-house experience.
  • Track record of effectively navigating opportunities, headwinds, and strategic shifts in an early-stage business.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience building a Compliance program in a start-up or early-stage company environment.
  • Experience working in or with the aerospace and/or automotive industry.
  • Pragmatic, business mindset.
