JOB SUMMARY
Responds promptly to guest repair requests and communicates effectively with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Conducts preventive maintenance on tools and equipment in various areas, including kitchens and mechanical rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper lubrication. Performs visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery, and carries necessary equipment such as tools and radios. Identifies and operates all shut-off valves for equipment and utility systems in buildings. Maintains an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and requisitions parts as needed. Communicates daily activities and any issues encountered to other shifts using established communication protocols.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Displays foundational knowledge or the ability to learn in the following areas:

air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.

Handles surface preparation, painting, minor drywall repairs, light bulb replacements, and A/C filter changes, ensuring thorough clean-up of work areas.

Tests, troubleshoots, and performs basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing fixtures (e.g., unclogging drains), and electrical components including lamps and outlets. Programs televisions and manages general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory tasks. Utilizes the Lockout/Tagout system prior to commencing any maintenance work. Conducts repairs on both interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems. Demonstrates basic computer skills for scheduling and temperature adjustments.

Accident Prevention and Safety
Adheres to all company safety and security policies to foster a clean and secure environment. Completes necessary safety training and certifications to perform job tasks. Follows protocols for the safe operation and storage of tools and equipment, including hazardous materials management. Employs proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and lifting techniques to prevent injuries.

Guest Relations
Addresses guest service needs with professionalism and timeliness. Welcomes and acknowledges every guest warmly, using their name when possible. Actively listens and responds positively to guest inquiries and concerns, utilizing property-specific processes to resolve issues effectively.

Working with Others
Collaborates with housekeeping and other departments to maintain all areas in excellent condition. Provides training and technical support to fellow engineers as needed. Maintains clear communication with supervisors regarding assignments and material needs.

Quality Assurance
Maintains a neat and organized work environment, supporting improvements in engineering services to address issues affecting guests and associates. Completes all maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner, adhering to quality assurance standards.

Physical Tasks
Engages in various physical activities, including lifting, carrying, and climbing, while ensuring safe practices are followed. Inspects tools and equipment visually to identify defects and maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas.

Policies and Procedures
Protects the privacy and security of guests and colleagues. Ensures compliance with company policies regarding appearance and conduct. Safeguards company assets and follows established procedures for tool and equipment management.
