Long Term Substitute Speech and Language Therapist

Fairfield Public Schools is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to fill a long-term substitute position. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students in grades 6-8 and possess a strong understanding of speech and language development. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing speech and language services to students, collaborating with teachers and other school staff, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
Responsibilities:
• Provide speech and language services to students in grades 6-8
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents and guardians as needed
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in speech and language therapy
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology or related field
• Certification in Speech and Language Pathology
• Experience working with students in grades 6-8
• Strong understanding of speech and language development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:
• This is a long-term substitute position, with a start date of November 1, 2024, and an end date of April 22, 2025
• The successful candidate will be required to work a standard school day, with occasional evening or weekend events as needed
• The position will be located at Tomlinson Middle School, with occasional travel to other school sites as needed
