Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Foreign Language Teacher to join our educational team at GREAT OAKS CHARTER SCHOOL - BRIDGEPORT INC.

The ideal candidate will create an immersive learning environment that promotes language acquisition through engaging instruction and cultural appreciation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive language curriculum aligned with educational standards
  • Create and deliver engaging lessons focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal assessments
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
  • Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance language learning
  • Organize cultural activities and events to promote language immersion
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student achievement
  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop cross-curricular learning opportunities
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with teaching methodologies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in target language, education, or related field
  • State teaching certification, pending certification, or demonstration of qualifications to obtain certification (Long Term Substitute, DSAP, CSEP)
  • A commitment to equity, student voice, and responsive teaching
  • Classroom management abilities
  • A strong belief that all students can succeed
  • The ability to respond well to feedback and implement it immediately
  • Clear understanding of their content and relevant teaching methods
