Job Overview

The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to fill the position of a lifeguard at the Parkview Family YMCA. As a lifeguard, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere in and around the pool, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surveillance and Response: Maintain constant and diligent surveillance of the pool area at all times and respond promptly to emergency situations.
  • Pool Maintenance: Ensure safe, clean, and secure conditions for the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the surrounding areas.
  • Enforcement of Aquatics Rules: Enforce all aquatics rules and policies on a fair and consistent basis.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • 2 years of high school or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent human relations skills and enthusiasm.
  • Certification from the YMCA or other accredited association preferred or willingness to become certified.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people.
Benefits
  • Part-time $12.50-$13.00 hourly.
  • 6am-5pm hours available.
