Job Summary

At REA Magnet Wire Corp, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate policies and local, state, and federal regulatory safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety and environmental management, with experience in developing and implementing safety and industrial hygiene solutions to provide a safe workplace for all employees.

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and implementing action plans for improvement in safety, industrial hygiene, noise levels, and environmental compliance.
  2. Assuring all new equipment and equipment/process modifications comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  3. Leading investigations for all near miss, first aid, property damage, and recordable/lost time incidents.
  4. Organizing, scheduling, and performing all Safety Training, including new hire orientation and contractor safety training.
  5. Managing environmental activities in the facility, including maintaining data, developing engineering changes, processes, and controls, and interpreting, submitting, and assuring compliance with the terms of regulatory permits.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental management, or a related engineering field, and two to three years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment with environmental and worker's compensation management responsibilities.

They will also have knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local government OSHA and environmental regulations, excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Additional certifications in RCRA, DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation, First Aid, and CPR/AED trainer, and fall-protection are also required.
