Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist to join our team at CommonSpirit. As a key member of our Invasive Cardiology department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our cardiac catheterization lab.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the room staff, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and maintaining a high level of patient care and safety.
  • Procedure Support: Assist physicians during invasive cardiology procedures, utilizing septic technique and maintaining a strong knowledge base of cardiovascular diseases.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate radiographic equipment, physiologic recorders, and other support equipment, ensuring radiation safety procedures are followed.
  • Staff Development: Train and educate new employees in the cardiac catheterization lab, participating in departmental educational programs and collaborating with staff educators.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure optimal quality examination and intervention, maintaining the highest level of patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) year clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Certifications: Registered as a Radiologic Technologist Radiography (RTR), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
  • Skills: Documented expertise in specialty training areas and skills checklist for at least two of the following: EP, interventional, scrub assist for AAA procedures or radiographic/digital imaging technique
