Position Overview:
BAE Systems is seeking a skilled Program Quality Engineer to contribute to a premier global aerospace and defense organization, specifically within the Recognizance and Indicator Friend or Foe product lines.

Role of Quality Engineering:
The Quality Engineering team is dedicated to ensuring that products and services adhere to established quality standards, including reliability, usability, and performance throughout the entire program life cycle, which encompasses Proposal, Design, Supply Chain, and Production phases.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Quality Engineer include:

  • Utilizing statistical methods, trend analysis, and continuous improvement tools to monitor product, process, and program performance, providing early indicators for preventive or corrective actions.
  • Leading and validating root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures through analytical skills and effective communication.
  • Analyzing project and customer requirements, assisting teams in customizing and implementing company procedures, methods, templates, and tools.
  • Establishing verification and validation protocols for the inspection and acceptance of hardware, software, and data deliverables.
  • Contributing to project risk management and opportunity identification processes.
  • Assisting in project tailoring, documentation development, and other activities to define project execution processes.
  • Supporting the creation and implementation of an effective ISO 9001 internal audit strategy to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintaining ISO records and revising quality plans and procedures to adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Coordinating and executing monthly Corrective Action Boards (CABs) and Management Reviews.
  • Preparing presentation materials for senior management, including reports for customers and government representatives.

Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract stipulations.

Qualifications:
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4-8+ years of relevant experience, or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in solving complex problems using various problem-solving tools (e.g., fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, is-is not analysis, 8D methodology).
  • Experience with electronics or optics is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in both team and individual settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • BS Degree in Engineering.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Experience in internal auditing.
  • Capability to solve problems independently or lead a team.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEA and AS9145 standards.

Compensation:
Full-Time Salary Range: $208,440. This range is based on market pay structures and individual salaries are influenced by various factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and candidate qualifications.
