Job Overview:
The Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that supplier products meet the required standards of quality and compliance. This position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at maintaining high-quality standards throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of supplier facilities to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
- Assess equipment status and determine appropriate actions for non-conformance.
- Create detailed inspection reports utilizing electronic tools, including photographic evidence, for submission to relevant stakeholders.
- Document and report on non-conforming materials, providing status updates to suppliers.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of data to evaluate supplier performance metrics.
- Generate comprehensive performance reports for suppliers based on contractual obligations.
- Support and conduct First Article Inspections at supplier locations.
- Participate in Supplier Qualification Audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Engage in Supplier Process Audits to evaluate operational quality.
- Compile necessary reports and ensure follow-up actions are completed regarding quality-related tasks at supplier facilities.
- Participate in meetings focused on supplier performance and deliver presentations to management as required.
- Act as a facilitator for the Quality Department, managing the status of rejected items and coordinating with responsible teams for resolution.
- Contribute to the review and enhancement of product quality through the identification of improvement opportunities.
- Oversee qualification and routine testing, documenting results and ensuring closure on quality issues.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Engineering within the passenger rail car sector or a closely related industry.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in computer applications and report generation.
- Excellent written English skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities.
