Job Overview:

The Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that supplier products meet the required standards of quality and compliance. This position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at maintaining high-quality standards throughout the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of supplier facilities to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Assess equipment status and determine appropriate actions for non-conformance.
  • Create detailed inspection reports utilizing electronic tools, including photographic evidence, for submission to relevant stakeholders.
  • Document and report on non-conforming materials, providing status updates to suppliers.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data to evaluate supplier performance metrics.
  • Generate comprehensive performance reports for suppliers based on contractual obligations.
  • Support and conduct First Article Inspections at supplier locations.
  • Participate in Supplier Qualification Audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Engage in Supplier Process Audits to evaluate operational quality.
  • Compile necessary reports and ensure follow-up actions are completed regarding quality-related tasks at supplier facilities.
  • Participate in meetings focused on supplier performance and deliver presentations to management as required.
  • Act as a facilitator for the Quality Department, managing the status of rejected items and coordinating with responsible teams for resolution.
  • Contribute to the review and enhancement of product quality through the identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee qualification and routine testing, documenting results and ensuring closure on quality issues.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Engineering within the passenger rail car sector or a closely related industry.
  2. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
  3. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  4. Proficient in computer applications and report generation.
  5. Excellent written English skills.
  6. Strong interpersonal abilities.
