Position Overview:
BAE Systems is seeking a skilled Program Quality Engineer to become a vital part of a premier global aerospace and defense organization, focusing on the Recognizance and Indicator Friend or Foe product lines.

Role of Quality Engineering:
The Quality Engineering team is tasked with ensuring that products and services align with established quality standards, encompassing reliability, usability, and performance metrics throughout the entire program lifecycle, including Proposal, Design, Supply Chain, and Production phases.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Utilizing statistical methodologies, trend analysis, and continuous improvement tools to monitor product, process, and program performance, providing early indicators for preventive or corrective measures.
  • Leading and validating root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives through strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Assessing project and customer requirements, assisting teams in adapting company procedures, methods, templates, and tools effectively.
  • Establishing verification and validation protocols for the inspection and acceptance of hardware, software, and data deliverables.
  • Contributing to project risk management and opportunity assessment processes.
  • Assisting in project tailoring, documentation development, and other activities to define execution processes.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of an effective ISO 9001 internal audit strategy to ensure process compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintaining ISO records and updating quality plans and procedures to adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Coordinating and executing monthly Corrective Action Boards (CABs) and Management Reviews.
  • Preparing presentation materials for senior management, including reports for customers and government representatives.

Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract stipulations.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree with 4-8+ years of relevant experience, or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Skills: Proficiency in solving complex problems using tools such as fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, and 8D methodologies. Experience with electronics or optics is advantageous. Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:
BS Degree in Engineering, Green Belt or Black Belt certification, internal auditing experience, and familiarity with DFMEA/PFMEA and AS9145.

Compensation:
Full-Time Salary Range: $208,440. This range is reflective of market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by various factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and candidate qualifications.
