Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Intensive Care Unit team at Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Triage incoming patients and manage client relationships throughout their visit
- Partner with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, including catheter placement
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize radiology imaging modalities for patient assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
- Provide outstanding client care to maintain long-term relationships
- 2 years' experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice and/or 1 year in a specialty practice
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a strong sense of personal accountability
- Knowledgeable of and able to effectively operate patient monitoring, laboratory, radiographic, and anesthetic equipment
- Ability to calculate volumes and rates of medications and other treatments
