Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Intensive Care Unit team at Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage incoming patients and manage client relationships throughout their visit
- Collaborate with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, including catheter placement
- Collect and process laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize various radiology imaging modalities for patient assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
- Provide exceptional client care to foster long-term relationships
This role is daytime on weekends from 7am-7pm.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles
- A strong work history demonstrating organizational and time management skills, as well as personal accountability
- The ability to maintain a professional composure and positive attitude in a high-performance culture with ever-changing demands
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively operate patient monitoring, laboratory, radiographic, and anesthetic equipment
- The ability to accurately calculate volumes and rates of medications and other treatments
2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice and/or 1 year in a specialty practice
