RRT / Registered Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory/Pulmonary - Per Diem - Variable

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and services to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures within your scope of practice, adhering to regulatory standards, clinical practice guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Initiate, manage, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway management, and suction, including tracheostomy, endotracheal, and pharyngeal cuff and ETCO2 monitoring.
  • Respond to rapid responses and emergency codes, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and actively participating in patient stabilization and internal and external transports.
  • Collect and analyze blood samples, perform continuous and/or non-invasive monitoring, bedside pulmonary function screens, spontaneous breathing parameters, and electrocardiograms (EKG).
  • Assemble, operate, and troubleshoot therapeutic and diagnostic equipment, including gas administration, monitoring, and analyzing devices, mechanical devices, laboratory equipment, and age-specific patient care equipment.
  • Provide educational needs of patients on disease-specific processes, tobacco cessation, and respiratory care services provided, including instruction for home care equipment and medications.
  • Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, medical students, and residents, as needed, and actively participate in the orientation of new staff and contribute to the growth of others.
  • Complete accurate patient documentation, including billing and productivity standards, and participate in creating a plan of care, evaluating achievement of identified goals, recording results, and communicating pertinent information to appropriate members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • A graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program and maintain credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Must be licensed to render respiratory care services by the respective state(s) of practice - Ohio and/or Michigan.
  • Must hold current BLS certification. ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification is recommended, and may be required at some business units.
