The Senior Manager of Technical Program Leadership (SMTPM) works closely with our leadership team to enhance their capabilities. Recognized as a technical expert, the SMTPM adopts a strategic mindset, proactively addresses challenges, and leads by example, fostering a culture of collaboration and conflict resolution. Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, onboard, and nurture team talent.
  • Oversee critical initiatives within device-related portfolios, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
  • Craft program roadmaps, strategies, and execution plans that encompass planning, development, and launch phases.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers and Product Managers to achieve excellence in product design, development, and delivery.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and strategic technical judgment to address complex challenges in alignment with business goals.
  • Demonstrate the value delivered through measurable metrics and results, building trust and confidence.
  • Foster relationships and trust across teams, collaborating effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Align product objectives with organizational and team goals.
  • Exemplify agility principles throughout program execution, guiding teams to adhere to best practices.
  • Enhance organizational impact by mentoring and advising Technical Program Management (TPM) and Engineering teams on program management fundamentals.
  • Quickly identify and resolve critical issues and dependencies to ensure project success.
  • Balance business needs with technical constraints throughout project execution.
  • Lead and manage changes (process, technology, organization) in line with program objectives, measuring success effectively.
  • Recommend and implement project improvements in collaboration with partners.
  • Apply appropriate software development methodologies to ensure engineering and operational excellence.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and problem-solving among subject matter experts.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance overall organizational execution and engineering productivity through tools and processes.
  • Contribute to and achieve milestones within scaled planning frameworks.
  • Volunteer for additional assignments as desired.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; post-graduate education preferred.
  • A minimum of 9 years managing complex programs, with experience in device-related initiatives being advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in product launches and managing the complete product lifecycle from inception to retirement.
  • 5 or more years of experience in Telematics is highly preferred.
  • Previous management experience is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Scrum and proficiency in other agile methodologies.
  • Ability to deeply understand technical issues.
  • Certifications in program/project management, change management, and/or Lean Six Sigma (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma Green/Yellow Belt).
  • Strong understanding of iterative and incremental product development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, or Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira).
  • Certified and/or direct experience with scaled planning frameworks like SAFe.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to drive progress despite challenges.
  • Strong facilitation skills to lead productive meetings and workshops.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated growth mindset and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
