Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Habilitation Training Specialist to join our team at Home of Hope. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Personal Care and Daily Living Skills: Provide guidance and assistance with personal hygiene, clothing care, mobility, medication management, and daily living skills to ensure the utmost comfort and well-being of our clients.
  2. Vocational Training and Rehabilitation: Develop and implement vocational training programs to enhance the employability and independence of our clients. Identify areas where assisted techniques may be beneficial and work collaboratively with clients to develop natural supports for integration into the work environment.
  3. Community Integration and Social Skills: Foster a supportive environment that encourages social interaction, community participation, and human relations. Encourage independence and self-determination while promoting the overall well-being and happiness of each client.
  4. Coordination and Communication: Work closely with clients, families, guardians, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services. Represent Home of Hope in a positive and professional manner, embodying the values of respect, empathy, and compassion.
  5. Safety and Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and adhere to all applicable laws and policies. Report any incidents, accidents, or concerns to the Program Coordinator or Safety Coordinator in a timely and thorough manner.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum age 18
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary; willingness to learn and grow with our organization
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lift 50-70 pounds with or without accommodation; valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Personal Qualities: Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential
