- Assist special education instructors and related personnel in executing students' IEPs, functional behavioral assessments, and behavior intervention plans to support lesson delivery and foster transition skills.
- Implement and promote the SKEMA (Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Assessment) framework, ensuring that student training aligns with its principles.
- Evaluate student performance across various job sites, acting as a liaison between students and employers to identify areas for skill enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with child labor laws and safety regulations at students' job locations.
- Document and monitor students' behavior and academic performance as directed by the supervising teacher.
- Model and encourage appropriate social interactions and behaviors among students.
- Provide training in essential transition skills, including job requirements and self-determination, to prepare students for future employment and educational opportunities.
- Engage in professional development to improve understanding of special populations and work-based learning.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the educational unit.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum requirement of an Associate's Degree in a relevant field or completion of 48 college credit hours from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Candidates must be at least 21 years old and prior experience working with children is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in basic computer applications, a positive attitude, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
Work Environment: This position may involve light to medium physical demands, including standing or walking for extended periods and lifting up to 20 pounds regularly. Candidates should be prepared for exposure to various environmental conditions.
