Job Description

Job Title: Financial Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer in Washington, DC. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in assisting the Grants and Debt management team with the day-to-day managing of specified District's funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing the Cash Management Improvement Act (CMIA) output
  • Ensure District compliance with the CMIA and the filing of the annual report
  • Record daily revenue deposits received in the District's Grants bank account
  • Create and transmit a daily report that shows unrecorded Grant revenue
  • Record and reconcile journal entries and other Grant related transactions
  • Serve as a liaison to all parties within and outside of the District Government on matters related to Grant funds

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of progressive work experience performing related duties and responsibilities such as preparing financial reports, conducting financial analysis, reconciling journal entries, and recording accounting entries for financial and grants related transactions
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 12 semester hours in accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized experience in financial analysis, accounting, and grants management
  • Knowledge of financial software and systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
