Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with personal care to facilitate optimal recovery during their stay.
- Perform essential nursing tasks as assigned by a registered nurse, adhering to established policies and procedures to enhance patient health and wellness.
- Monitor and document patient data, including vital signs, weight, and intake/output measurements.
- Promptly report any changes in patient conditions or abnormal findings to the supervising nurse.
- Support patients with personal hygiene, activities of daily living (ADLs), exercise, and mobility.
- Collect, label, and send specimens for diagnostic analysis.
- Document all patient care activities accurately.
- Assist healthcare professionals during physical examinations and procedures.
- Ensure a safe environment and the secure delivery of care by continuously observing for potential hazards.
- Identify patients accurately prior to any intervention.
- Maintain safe practices for patient transfers and positioning.
- Conduct equipment cleaning and safety checks as required.
- Report incidents involving patients, staff, or visitors using the institution's quality reporting system.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire, emergency, and infection control protocols.
- Perform administrative tasks, including medical record maintenance and supply management.
- Engage in professional development and complete mandatory training within designated timeframes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Experience: No prior experience necessary.
- Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification is required.
Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $20.34 - $23.82 per hour.
Physical DemandsThis role requires frequent bending and stooping, effective communication skills, and the ability to lift/push/pull weights between 20 to 50 lbs. Candidates may be exposed to various health-related risks, including chemicals and infectious diseases.
