Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in the design and execution of projects related to CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, public address systems, intercoms, audiovisual setups, telephony, fiber/copper network infrastructure, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and real-time information systems along with their associated hardware and software.
- Assist in the creation and revision of design calculations, technical documentation, engineering plans, and specifications for designated projects.
- Implement engineering methodologies, procedures, and design standards for projects of varying scales and complexities.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure successful project outcomes across a wide array of client projects.
- Aid in the formulation and development of communication system designs for assigned initiatives.
- Conduct field surveys and liaise with client representatives to finalize design engineering for communication systems.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients.
- Produce technical study reports and prepare presentations to effectively communicate information to team members and clients.
- Participate in project review and progress meetings with clients.
- Evaluate shop drawings and submissions to verify contractors' adherence to designs, specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Complete assigned tasks within the designated timeline and budget.
- Contribute to the development of project specifications.
- Responsible for producing discipline-specific engineering project elements and deliverables, including reports, designs, and plans.
- Support the coordination and productivity of project team members.
- Provide technical mentorship to less experienced project team members.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering and other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Work in conjunction with subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and systems integrators to ensure designs are feasible and market-ready.
- Conduct quality control assessments of discipline-specific engineering project elements and deliverables.
- Assist in planning and coordinating schedules, work hours, and task distribution within the discipline.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Support the creation and updates of internal communications systems technical manuals.
- Aid in the development, updates, and delivery of internal communications systems training programs.
Essential Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in one or more low voltage communication systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, public address systems, intercoms, audiovisual systems, telephony, fiber/copper network infrastructure, SCADA, and real-time information systems along with their associated hardware and software.
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with transportation communications systems, such as mass transit, rail, or aviation, is preferred.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with an aspiration to obtain PE certification or current PE certification is preferred.
- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is preferred.
