About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Systems Designer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and programming HVAC control systems to meet the requirements of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and program hardware and software for HVAC control systems using established standards and best practices.
  • Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, and installation teams.
  • Respond to basic warranty calls and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades.
  • Coordinate the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
  • Assist in the loading and commissioning of system and network-level controllers, and validate complete system functionality.
  • Gather field changes and create as-built drawings and software, and prepare proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.
  • Keep management and stakeholders informed of job progress and issues.
  • Assist in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.
  • Complete paperwork, including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two - four years of experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems, including system-level controllers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and advanced computer skills, particularly with computer-related drafting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

This position includes a competitive benefits package and a hiring pay range of $27.25-$40.00 (hourly rate to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
