Job Title: Concrete Finisher General Foreman
Job Overview:
The Concrete Finisher General Foreman plays a crucial role in ensuring safety and quality in construction projects. This position emphasizes the importance of safe work practices and employee behavior to achieve the organization's safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and promote safe work practices to foster a culture of safety.
- Provide constructive feedback regarding safe and unsafe behaviors.
- Interpret blueprints and job specifications to implement established procedures and rules.
- Understand project scopes and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Guide and instruct journeymen on specific tasks, including safety protocols.
- Coordinate with various craft disciplines to ensure seamless operations.
- Administer and enforce safety and work rules consistently.
- Offer timely guidance to foremen to avoid work stoppages.
- Ensure foremen effectively supervise their teams and understand their assignments.
- Assess work priorities and schedules to assign appropriate work plans.
- Identify challenges and develop action plans to minimize disruptions.
- Facilitate coordination with other disciplines to avoid scheduling conflicts.
- Oversee the quality of work performed by supervised crafts.
- Ensure accurate reporting of time sheets, backcharges, quantities, and work status.
- Encourage open communication and idea exchange among team members.
- Administer praise and corrective actions fairly and consistently.
- Engage in work preplanning and contribute to scheduling meetings.
- Monitor progress and report potential scheduling issues to management.
Experience Required:
Typically requires 8 years of industrial construction experience, including 4 years in supervisory roles.
