About the Role:

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the facility, specifically as it relates to safety, quality, on-time delivery to customers, productivity, and cost controls.

The individual in this role will oversee the production, maintenance, and quality assurance functions of our manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will direct the coordination of all manufacturing departments' functions to ensure compliance with company objectives, improve quality systems, and increase customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety Leadership: Be a Safety leader and exemplify the goal of Zero Harm as a core value (Ensures a safe work environment and adherence to Safety Standards).
  • Operational Excellence: Directs the planning, organizing and optimum running of day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations.
  • Production Optimization: Increases production, line capacity and crew flexibility while minimizing cost and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for the safe production of quality product delivered to our customers On-Time and In-Full.
  • Facility Management: Responsible for the overall production output of the facilities and their continued optimization.
  • Resource Allocation: Strategic allocation of resources (people, raw materials, machinery, facilities, etc.).
  • Performance Monitoring: Ensures the monitoring of all operations and the applicable triggering of unsatisfactory conditions, including the development of corrective actions.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensures the facility is maintained to a high housekeeping standard and that all equipment is in good running order.
  • Process Improvement: Ensures collection and participates in the analyses of data to reduce waste (materials, machine speed, machine delay).
  • Performance Metrics: Develops and implements systems and processes that track performance to enable optimization of productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to achieve high returns on capital employed.
  • Cost Management: Budgets and manages manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operational expenses within budget and explore cost-reduction measures.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Applies Lean manufacturing principles to improve, design, and maintain manufacturing processes to achieve organizational goals.
  • Employee Engagement: Addresses all employees' concerns or issues to foster a positive work atmosphere.
  • Leadership Development: Influences, mentors, and learns from direct and in-direct reports.
  • Compliance: Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Additional Expectations:
  • Compliance Management: Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Product Compliance: Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Compliance Goals: Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Reporting: Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business Management; or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership Experience: 5 years of experience in a manufacturing management position.
  • Business Acumen: Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources).
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, and factory leadership processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Technical Skills: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.) applications and computer technology.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and managerial attributes, ability to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
  • Accountability: Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of National and Local regulatory requirements for plant operations.
