Job Summary:

As a Heavy Equipment Field Technician at Ohio Machinery Co, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing general heavy equipment, engines, and drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems, from a company service truck, in the field, often times at customer job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining engines and/or heavy equipment components, such as torque convertors, final drives, undercarriage, hydraulic pumps, and much more.
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment and engines.
  • Providing excellent customer service and support to customers.
  • Collaborating with other technicians and support staff to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest technical developments and advancements in the field.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment service and repair, preferably with Caterpillar equipment.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience with construction or heavy equipment required.
  • Ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete repairs and manufacturers' updates.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling.
  • Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines.
  • Dexterity Normal.
  • Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
