At Ohio Machinery Co, we're seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing general heavy equipment, engines, and drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems, from a company service truck, in the field, often times at customer job sites.

Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and maintaining engines and/or heavy equipment components, such as torque convertors, final drives, undercarriage, hydraulic pumps, and much more. In this role, you will have the satisfaction of keeping our customers working, and contributing to building the world around you.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College and/or continued education in a technical field are a plus.
  • Experience related to construction or heavy equipment service and repair is required, preferably with Caterpillar equipment.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Ohio CAT standards
  • Strong technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience with construction or heavy equipment required, and strong DC electrical and machine electronic system knowledge is crucial
  • Must have the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete repairs and manufacturers' updates, as required

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling
  • Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
  • Dexterity Normal
  • Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
