About the Role

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of flight school aircraft. This includes ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to effectively interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • The ability to read and understand technical data such as maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, and engineering drawings is crucial.
  • Familiarity with federal regulations relating to Title 14 parts 43 and 91 is necessary.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment is essential.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts on an as-needed basis is required.
Requirements
  • Airframe and Powerplant license is required at the time of hire. Obtaining Inspection Authorization within three months of hire is also necessary.
Experience
  • A minimum of three recent and consecutive years of GA experience as a certificated A&P is required.
  • Experience on Piper aircraft is preferred.
  • G1000 experience is a plus.
Skills and Abilities
  • The ability to work independently and make airworthiness decisions is essential.
  • Effective workflow management and prioritization skills are necessary.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and performing maintenance on company aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA regulations is required.
  • Making aircraft logbook entries and releasing aircraft for return to service is also necessary.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn Talon RMS computer maintenance program is required.
Equipment/Machinery Used
  • General office equipment such as facsimile, copier, and personal computer.
  • Vehicle operation such as company van, truck, golf cart, and aircraft as required.
  • Various pieces of shop equipment and tools.
  • Exposure to solvents, aviation gasoline, etc.
Physical and Safety Requirements
  • Working in various environments inside and outside the facility.
  • Extensive exposure to aircraft, simulators, outside conditions, and equipment.
  • Medium lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing, bending, and stooping.

  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • A self-starter who does not wait for others to provide work, finds ways to keep busy or help others.
  • Flexible and adaptable to fast-changing pace and instructions according to flight school priorities.
