Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to act as a liaison between the customer and CES, serving as the primary point of communication between sales, manufacturing, purchasing, documentation, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Communication: Distribute customer RFQ requests to the CES quoting team for new and repeat product assemblies, and ensure timely follow-up on existing orders.
  2. Project Coordination: Launch new product meetings, create packing lists for shipments, and arrange for shipments to customers.
  3. Order Management: Track orders from inception to ship date, ensuring that the order meets deadline requirements, and work with the customer, production, and other internal departments to ensure on-time delivery.
  4. Research and Analysis: Examine the detail of the order to ensure that given the lead times of the various raw materials, the deadline is appropriate and feasible, and research existing data to determine if this is a repeat job.
  5. Quote Preparation: Enter request for quotes into the system and forward it to Purchasing and Operations, and prepare material quote and forward for labor costing and profit data.
  6. Problem-Solving: Identify potential objections and involve the team in resolving them, and consult the various departments when there appears to be an issue so that it may be resolved for on-time shipment.
  7. Customer Satisfaction: Once shipment arrives, contact the customer to confirm satisfaction, and document customer complaints and enlist the support of various departments to resolve the issue.
  8. Material Sourcing: Assist purchasing in the sourcing of materials specific to your customer's jobs, and notify the team of pertinent information concerning customers, competitors, and trends.
  9. Business Development: Proactively pursue new business with established customers through history analysis and courtesy calls, and schedule regular visits to assigned customers.

Requirements:

  1. Industry Knowledge: Product and industry knowledge, with prior experience in customer service required.
  2. Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong customer service/sales skills, a sense of urgency, follow-thru, and attention to detail.
  3. Teamwork: The ability to work with others to resolve problems, and prior experience with an MRP system or Manex is a plus.
  4. Technical Skills: Demonstrated competency in using email and the internet, and intermediate ability with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
