Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Financial Program Manager to join our team at the School of Medicine. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the Coagulation Disorders Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the program's budget, ensuring compliance with university and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with principal investigators to prepare and manage grant budgets, including program income accounts.
  • Provide financial and administrative management, including monthly reviews of expenditures and projections.
  • Supervise administrative support staff in the procurement of materials and services, processing of invoices, and reconciliation of orders and payments.
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA requirements for auditing purposes and serve as primary contact for any Regional or HRSA audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or health science administration or equivalent education training and experience.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making and interpretation of complex rules and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, including the ability to adapt to frequent changes in work assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from different healthcare disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with managing program income accounts.
  • Experience in grants administration, including pre and post award, proposal preparation and submission, administrative and fiscal management, effort reporting, close-out, and record keeping.
