Job Summary

The Stroke Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all clinical efforts of the multidisciplinary stroke team for patients across the continuum of care. This role requires in-depth knowledge of nursing practice and the ability to apply nursing theories to ensure daily stroke operations are following The Joint Commission Stroke Center Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provides daily stroke program oversight for operations and clinical effectiveness
  • Maintains continuous readiness for TJC regulatory requirements
  • Manages, maintains, and updates stroke program policies, guidelines, ordersets, and clinical practice guidelines
  • Manages and monitors the development, utilization, and revisions to stroke standards of care
  • Maintains professional affiliation with regulatory bodies and professional organizations
  • Demonstrates an advanced understanding of stroke care and related procedures
  • Promotes positive image of stroke program by exhibiting professionalism
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of science degree in nursing
  • Five (5) years of nursing experience in an ED, ICU, or neuroscience floor
  • Active Kentucky registered nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
