Job Title:
Grocery Associate I

Reports To:
Grocery Department Manager

In this role, you will ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while striving to meet departmental objectives.

Your contributions will enhance store sales and profitability by effectively managing all aspects of the Grocery Department, including stock levels, inventory, and customer service.


Job Responsibilities:

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that products are fresh, rotated, and displayed according to the designated planogram.

Deliver exceptional customer service on the sales floor by greeting and responding to customer needs.

Assist with unloading products from pallets and organizing the stockroom.

Maintain proper presentation of products on shelves and in display cases.

Monitor sales floor conditions and take corrective actions as needed.

Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure accurate pricing on products received and sold.


Collaborate with the Store Director, Grocery Department Manager, and fellow associates to uphold standards and exceed customer expectations.

Assist customers in locating items on the sales floor and provide product recommendations when necessary.

Address customer concerns and resolve issues to ensure satisfaction with service or products.


Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the department by sanitizing, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and the sales floor as required.

Ensure all quality standards are met, including achieving quantity expectations consistently.

Maintain regular, timely attendance in accordance with the work schedule, providing adequate notice for any absences.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Thorough understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques.

Ability to operate equipment such as power jacks and compactors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT


The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The associate must be able to stand for extended periods, work in a cooler, walk throughout the store, and regularly bend, stoop, and kneel.

The associate must have full upper body motion to lift products and perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.

WORK SCHEDULE
The Grocery Associate I is a part-time, hourly position. The work schedule may include various shifts throughout the week.
