Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Device Technician to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a key member of our device center, you will play a crucial role in the management of patients with cardiac implantable electrical devices (CIEDs).

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing and documenting remote pacemaker, ICD, and implantable loop recorder (ILR) transmissions and alerts on a daily basis. You will also communicate findings requiring further attention with responsible MD or NP/PA.

You will enroll, educate, schedule, and maintain patients in various remote monitoring systems, including Carelink, Latitude, Merlin, and Biotronik. Additionally, you will assist with the management and maintenance of the remote monitoring program.

Responsibilities
  • Daily review and documentation of remote transmissions
  • Appropriate communication of findings requiring further attention with responsible MD or NP/PA
  • Enrollment, education, scheduling, and maintenance of patients in various remote monitoring systems
  • Assistance with management and maintenance of the remote monitoring program
  • Triaging reports on a daily basis
  • Patient notification of follow-up
  • Assistance with device advisories/recalls
  • Troubleshooting issues with remote monitoring systems
  • Interrogate, interpret, and program a wide range of cardiac devices with minimal provider supervision
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in the biomedical field strongly preferred
  • Successful completion of a full Cardiac Device Educational Program or one year's experience in Electrophysiology strongly preferred
  • Current experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions strongly preferred
  • Certification by IHBRE within two years of employment strongly preferred and encouraged but not mandatory
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required within the first year of employment
Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is between $70,000 and $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
