Environmental Charter Schools (ECS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our team of educators committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in guiding students' academic, personal, and social-emotional growth. You will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to provide comprehensive counseling services that address the unique needs of each individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students on a variety of topics, including academic planning, career exploration, personal development, and social-emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement interventions and support systems for students who are struggling academically or emotionally.
  • Conduct classroom guidance lessons on topics such as study skills, stress management, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
  • Advocate for students' needs and rights, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they require to succeed.
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Demonstrates an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of various age groups, temperaments, and abilities (particularly those exhibiting specialized needs)
  • Exhibit ability to handle confidential information and materials
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
  • Commitment to inclusive school environments, collaboration, and social justice
  • Commitment to the success of all students and the ECS mission, vision, and values
