Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Public Policy Intern at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of defending human dignity and combating sexual exploitation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in researching state and federal legislation, stakeholders, and legislative policy efforts.
  • Participate in advocacy campaigns to advance legislative efforts and write blogs on sexual exploitation issues and NCOSE legislative priorities.
  • Support the development of memos, fact sheets, and PowerPoint presentations, and assist in organizing NCOSE events.
  • Represent NCOSE at coalition meetings and congressional hearings, and stay up-to-date on current developments in state legislation.
  • Contribute to office management tasks, including answering telephones, responding to email, and drafting correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Passionate about opposing sexual exploitation and committed to NCOSE's mission, vision, and values.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Independent worker with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications, including mail merge, formatting letters, and data management in Excel.

Compensation

NCOSE internships are unpaid, but interns may be provided a small monthly stipend based on qualifications and hours in the office.

Schedule

This position requires 24-40 hours per week, with most availability during NCOSE's office hours of Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm EST.

Location

This internship is based at NCOSE's office headquarters in Washington, DC.
