Cartesian Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist to lead our bioprocess development efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing experiments to optimize and characterize bioprocesses for CAR-T cell therapy.
Key Responsibilities- Independently design, develop, and execute experiments for bioprocess development, optimization, and characterization.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to manage sample testing, critical raw material manufacturing, and other related activities.
- Serve as a bioprocess subject matter expert, providing technical oversight to support IND filling and clinical manufacturing activities.
- Support initiatives for new technology development and continuous improvement projects.
- Author technical reports, protocols, SOPs, and risk assessments to enable technology transfer, manufacturing, and IND activities.
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field.
- 7 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture bioreactor technologies, including perfusion (Upstream process).
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Indirect and direct leadership experience in a multi-functional team setting.
- Working knowledge of statistics and experience with Design of Engineering (DoE) approach.
- Experience with T-cells or other types of immune cell selection, expansion, and culture.
- Experience with flow cytometry and ELISA assays.
