Position Overview
POSITION TITLE: Juvenile Diversion Officer
DEPARTMENT:
Fayette County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division
REPORTING TO:
Court Administrator
SALARY RANGE: $20 - $24.50/hr based on qualifications and experience.
WORK HOURS: Full-time, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., or as designated.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court processes, and document management within the Court and Clerk's Office.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to produce precise work, and capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to accurately read and replicate records; organize items in alphabetical or numerical order; address inquiries and provide information; categorize items according to established criteria; complete standard forms; and lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Understanding of general office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Competence in using a personal computer and proficiency, or willingness to learn, Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel, along with case management systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing, in English to a diverse audience.
- Friendly demeanor and ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with judges, staff, and others engaging with the Court.
- Professional appearance and conduct suitable for the role and the expected standards of a Court representative.
- Proven reliability, dependability, and an excellent attendance record.
- Patience, objectivity, maturity, effectiveness under pressure, initiative, and adaptability.
- Completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy or equivalent training, or willingness to undergo OPOTA training (40 hours of training funded by the Court) in armed courtroom security.
