Job Summary

The Patient Services Specialist is a vital member of our team at Wooster Community Hospital, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This role serves as the primary point of contact between patients, clinical staff, and physicians/providers, maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Coordination
    • Schedule appointments and manage patient records with accuracy and efficiency.
    • Notify providers and clinical staff of patient arrivals and schedule changes.
  • Patient Communication
    • Welcome patients and visitors, responding to their inquiries and concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Use practice management software to interact with patients and providers, updating files and records as needed.
  • Administrative Support
    • Assist patients with insurance forms and other records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Collect, sort, and distribute mail, messages, and faxes in a timely and organized manner.
  • Financial Management
    • Obtain and record patient financial information, updating records as necessary.
    • Collect patient charges and file third-party claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Inventory and Supplies
    • Maintain office inventory and equipment, ordering supplies as needed and verifying receipt and delivery.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance
    • Maintain confidentiality of patient medical, personal, and financial information, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Associate degree in business administration or similar concentration a plus.
    • 1-2 years Medical Office experience desired.
