Job OverviewKey Responsibilities:
  • The contractor will deliver comprehensive systems engineering support across various initiatives managed by PEO IEW&S. This role involves employing an integrated system approach, considering all phases from development through to deployment and operational use.
  • Offer acquisition insights and recommendations grounded in a thorough understanding of applicable principles, policies, laws, and regulatory frameworks relevant to each program.
  • Provide acquisition management guidance based on an in-depth knowledge of Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) for the Defense Acquisition System, AR 70-1 (Army Acquisition Policy), and relevant military handbooks.
  • Collaborate with PEO Headquarters personnel (including budget, systems engineering, logistics, and contract planning) to identify, prepare, review, and monitor the approval of program documentation.
  • Draft, review, and circulate engineering and programmatic documents, such as: Systems Engineering Plan, Test and Evaluation Master Plan, Information Support Plan, Program Protection Plan, Materiel Release Package, and Cybersecurity Strategy.
  • Engage in technical evaluations, including preparatory and follow-up activities for reviews such as Software Specification Review, System Requirements Review, and various design reviews.
  • Contribute expertise during weekly/bi-weekly integrated product teams and working groups, providing insights on Lessons Learned, Executive Summaries, and relevant policies and procedures.
  • Deliver subject matter expertise during Post-Award Conferences.
  • Examine all systems engineering documentation in anticipation of Milestone Decision Reviews.
  • Develop, assess, and monitor Integrated Master Schedules and associated risks for programs.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on the system's reliability and maintainability requirements, hardware and software quality standards, cybersecurity mandates, and architectural needs in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Possess experience with ACAT I/II/III defense acquisition programs.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Department of Defense acquisition policies.
  • Have experience drafting Systems Engineering Plans and familiarity with technologies relevant to our domain (ISR, Cyber, EW, etc.).
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with PEO IEW&S programs is advantageous.
Educational Background:
  • A degree in Engineering is preferred, with less than 10 years of experience acceptable.
