Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Lead to join our team at SpartanNash Company. As a key member of our front-end operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supervising and directing front-end activities, and ensuring that our store's front-end operations contribute to the financial best interests of the store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and maintain a high standard of customer service in the store's front-end operations
  • Supervise and direct all front-end activities in the absence of the Customer Service Manager
  • Accurately perform all transactions, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, and ID requirements
  • Ensure that return-to-stock items are handled in a prompt and orderly manner, with a focus on perishable items
  • Train others to perform all department activities and functions
  • Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of others to meet or exceed departmental productivity levels
  • Handle spoiled/damaged products per established guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department
  • Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines, Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations, and Guest Experience Guidelines
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Proficient computer skills, including email and spreadsheets
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping skills, including the ability to interpret and analyze financials, develop and manage budgets, and delegate, direct, and implement tasks
  • Suggestive selling and knowledge of products
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is also required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store environment with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
