Job Overview

Medical Services of America Home Health is seeking a skilled Location Authorization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our home health offices in South Carolina, you will be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtaining authorizations for services from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies.

This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively interact with insurance companies and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance coverage for all patients
  • Obtain authorizations for home health services from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies
  • Run daily reports to ensure timely and accurate authorization processing
  • Collaborate with the billing department to resolve denial issues

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of customer service, medical billing, or collections experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing regulations
  • Experience with electronic medical billing systems
