Position Overview

The Engineering Team Leader is tasked with overseeing the development, enhancement, and maintenance of manufacturing processes within the facility. This role involves leading a group of Process and Continuous Improvement Engineers.

Work Environment:
The facility is situated in a vibrant area known for its recreational opportunities, educational institutions, and healthcare services. The community offers a variety of activities including parks, museums, and local events, making it an engaging place to live and work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage capital expenditure planning and budgeting processes.
  • Ensure the successful execution and monitoring of approved projects.
  • Lead and oversee all lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance to various departments.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental projects effectively.
  • Deliver training and mentorship based on project requirements.
  • Support the professional development of the engineering team.
  • Assess factory capacity in alignment with production demands.
  • Enhance the reliability of engineering operations by implementing key metrics and strategies to minimize downtime and boost production efficiency.
  • Act as the Site Management of Change coordinator and ESG facilitator.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost factors and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and benchmarking across departments to identify and implement improvements.
  • Proven ability to foster teamwork and collaboration within and across departments.
  • Experience in setting and managing annual budgets, including approval processes for engineering contracts.
  • Ability to prepare capital requests and communicate associated benefits and risks.
  • Familiarity with legal regulations and contractual obligations impacting workplace performance.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, with a structured approach to leadership and oversight.
  • General technical knowledge in utilities, electronics, mechanical systems, and installation designs.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and metrics for informed decision-making and performance management.
  • Effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills, including resource management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in communicating and negotiating in English at a business and technical level.

Travel and Other Requirements:
Work will primarily be conducted in a plant environment, with occasional travel as necessary.
