Construction Manager Trainee

About the Role

The Construction Manager Trainee will assist in the supervision, coordination, and management of all assigned residential construction. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining job schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Inspect and enforce job safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Complete 'punch lists' and assist in the completion of new home orientation lists to ensure a smooth transition for homeowners.
  • Attend construction meetings and training classes as scheduled to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Ensure job site cleanliness and assist in the completion of model/inventory maintenance to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Assist in areas of service-related issues to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Daily interaction with various division personnel, subcontractors, business partners, and homeowners to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • College Degree or equivalent education preferred.
  • Construction experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office products (Word and Excel) is required.
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record is required.
  • Valid Auto Insurance Coverage is required.
Physical and Office/ Site Presence Requirements

Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. Requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of an office and/or the field environment. Also requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry items that are less than 50 pounds. Finger dexterity required in operating a computer keyboard and a calculator. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, completing paperwork, and meeting with vendors and contractors and to receive/return phone messages. Standing is required for filing and copying. Limited travel may be required.
